To convert existing assets from Maya or mental ray to Arnold for Maya, a sample mrShadersToArnold.py conversion script is available in the
\docs directory of the MtoA installation folder. This simple script converts unsupported materials (phong, blinn, mia_material etc..) to an Ai Standard shader.
- Load the script (as a Python file *.py) and the following message should appear.
- Choose to convert all of the shaders or just those selected in the Hypershade window.
The Maya shaders will be converted to Standard shaders and an '
ai' suffix will be added to the shader name.
The converted Standard shader will approximate the attributes of the Maya shader.
Blinn shader converted to Ai Standard shader
